Come Explore the Marigny Neighborhood!
We’ll meet at the lower end of the French Quarter and head downriver to the next neighborhood, the first faubourg (suburb) of New Orleans which was laid out in 1806 by our most famous bon vivant of the time, Bernard de Marigny.
Tour the vibrant Marigny neighborhood with our artsy guide. You will experience the history, culture, art, and current music scene of this eclectic district. Expect to see lots of street art, colorful creole cottages and shotgun houses, and several off-the-beaten-path eateries and music venues you’ll want to try later.
The sidewalks of the French Quarter can be quite uneven. Please wear comfortable shoes!
Bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. An umbrella is also handy in case it rains, but also for creating your own shade.
